should i take this offer? Reyes/Wright

Postby LSUby50 » Fri Apr 16, 2010 9:25 am

ive been offered David Wright and Frank Francisco for Jose Reyes, Scot Rolen, and Fausto Carmona. Is this a good deal for me?

my lineup is:
C Wieters
1B Cuddyer
2B BRoberts
3B Rolen
SS-HRamirez
OF Damon
OF Hunter
OF Beltran (connor Jackson until Beltran returns)
Util Reyes
Bench-castilla, lowell, (not much)

i have KRod as my closer and also KWood when he returns, if that helps any. SP is week. i have Wakefield, harang, DiceK, Carmona, Snell, Aroldis Chapman. thanks for any input.

How many teams are in this league?

Initially I thought you should do this deal, since It looked like it essentially boiled down to Wright for Reyes.

Francisco to me has no value, I don't see him getting the job back.

Rolen is nice but you would then have Wright at 3B so its not that big a deal.

When I saw Carmona, I instantly thought, not a big deal, but then I looked at your pitching. Unless this is a 48 team league, it is awful.

Since you have Han-Ram I would look to move Reyes, but first I would wait till Reyes puts together a hot streak and second I would look to improve other areas of your team rather than 3B.

I would have to agree that Reyes for Wright is a good deal for you, however being that your pitching is weak, I would try and trade reyes for starting pitching...

Completely agree that you should be trading for pitching, not a better 3B. Definitely DON'T trade away a pitcher.
