Reyes for Gallardo?

Postby dukefan » Fri Apr 16, 2010 2:28 am

Head to head points 10 team keeper league (we keep 12 players)

The guy that has gallardo is dissapointed in his last 2 starts and is lookinto trade him for a shortstop.

Should I trade Jose Reyes for this 24 yr old pitcher??

Problem is I don't have any replacement SS so I'd have top pick up Alcides Escabor or Renteria off the free agents list.

Here's my roster

My roster:

C: Matt Weiters

1B: Kendry Morales

2B: Robinson Cano

3B: Gordan Beckham

SS: Jose Reyes

OF: Andre Etheir

OF: Carlos Quentin

OF: Jacoby Ellsbury

UTIL: Vladmir Guerrero

Bench: Howie Kendrick

Bench: Edgar Reteria

SP: CC Sabathia

SP: Zach Greinke

SP: Justin Verlander

SP: Matt Garza

SP: Francisco Liriano

RP: Ryan Madson

RP: Andrew Bailey

RP: Brian Funtes

RP: Netalfi Perez

Not in a million years! Well, maybe a million but not in the next 2-3 years at least.

Try to trade Renteria/Kendrick and Liriano to get Gallardo

if he is that disappointed in Gallardo you could try a package deal around Reyes plus to get Gallardo plus.
based on Reyes injury history will he ever get back to where he one was?
even if Reyes can get back to where he used to be i think its close. IMO Gallardo is on the verge of become one of the best pitchers in baseball. Gallardo career in the minors is 2.59 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 6.9 H/9, 10.4 K/9. in the future he will be an ace and one of the best pitchers in baseball. right now its just a question of when.
with the potential for Reyes to get back to where he once was i would first try Reyes plus for Gallardo plus because i think Reyes has the edge IF he can get back to where he was before.
there is a concern this season on Gallardo who had an increase in IP from 2008 to 2009 and that could be why he tailed off late last season, so there could be a risk for Gallardo this season.
