I'd be giving up Stewart. Other guy just lost Roberts to the DL.
12-team H2H keeper league (we keep up to 8 players each season). I'm set at 2B and 3B with Utley and Wright, but I like Stewart a lot as a back up / utility guy. That being said, I could use another solid starter.
Fair / Good deal?
Roster:
C Geovany Soto, ChC C 1B Miguel Cabrera, Det 1B 2B Chase Utley, Phi 2B 3B David Wright, NYM 3B SS Alexei Ramirez, CWS SS LF Carlos Quentin, CWS LF CF Matt Kemp, LAD CF RF Adam Dunn, Was 1B, LF, RF UTIL Grady Sizemore, Cle CF UTIL Carlos Gonzalez, Col LF, CF DTD Bench Ian Stewart, Col 2B, 3B Bench Alex Rios, CWS CF, RF
P Jim Johnson, Bal RP SP Tommy Hanson, Atl SP SP Ubaldo Jimenez, Col SP SP Kevin Slowey, Min SP RP Octavio Dotel, Pit RP RP Fernando Rodney, LAA RP Bench James Shields, TB SP Bench Ervin Santana, LAA SP
DL Miguel Montero*, Ari C DL15 DL Mike Gonzalez*, Bal RP DL15
Any other thoughts? I like Stewart a lot, had him on my roster last season also. He's off to a hot start so this is a good time to sell but I'm wondering long-term if I'm selling him a little prematurely and if I might get better value trading either Utley or Wright, who have already probably reached the peak of their abilities.

Of course I'd rather have Utley or Wright, but I'm wondering if I might get a fairer return for them than I would for Stewart, who hasn't realized his potential yet.

I wouldn't be moving Utley or Wright for pitching at all, unless you net some serious return (I'm thinking Hallday/Lince + another high upside no. 2 sp). It sounds like you don't know if Ian Stewart could net Nolasco, and you want to maybe up your offer to Utley/Wright and see what kind of pitching package you could get back. I warn you to be very careful in doing this, because if Ian Stewart doesn't perform up to your expectations, you will leave glaring holes in your lineup and get rid of one of your most solid bats. I agree with your original thought process in thinking small, and targeting a guy most of the Cafe is high on in Nolasco, especially with his first couple rough starts.

Gotcha. I'm in agreement, I just like Stewart a lot. Thanks for the advice all.
