Just saw that someone dropped carlos lee in my 10-team, 6 x 6 (ops. and quality starts.) Its a keeper league (keep 10 each), and I was torn between lee and dunn with my first round pick. Wound up going with dunn, who's stunk, and now I notice lee has been even worse...
The question -- should I burn my #3 wavier priority on lee and hope he returns to form? Before I looked at his numbers, it was an automatic yes, but now I'm hesitant.
i would stay where im at, look at lee's numbers and you see a glaring weakness in runs scored and rbis have decreased the past 3 years, dunn no matter what will give u more runs, hrs and rbis, he always starts slowly, i project dunn's numbers to be .250-35hrs-95rbis-92 runs scored and lee at .290-24hrs-85rbis and 75 runs scored so stick with dunn
I would drop Soriano for him if you think no one else will drop anyone worth using that #3 waiver on this year. It's always better to make sure you can use it instead of waiting for a good player to be dropped and that may never happen.
I would definitely use a waiver on him. I think he will bounce back barring a freak injury. I remember years ago when someone dropped Lee early and he tore it up later. He ended up being a 4th round pick the next year. While I don't think he will be a beast like years past, I still think he will provide decent power and average by years end. Since the offense around him is pretty back, I don't think his other peripherals will be as good. Still well worth a #1 WW not to mention #3 WW. But it ultimately depends on who you are dropping. If you are dropping another slumping potential stud like Soriano, Pence, or Adam Jones I would just stay put.
This is actually a tough one, but I think i'd use your waiver claim on him. Once Berkman comes back, I think Lee will bounce back too. Also, there is Pence in that lineup too, so once things get going, I think those 3 will will be the reason why
