Gomez is a liability on the avg and offers no power or rbi potential...and you do not need his speed. Sanchez is an uproven rookie, but i like him more than Sanchez. That said, I do not see the great need for either. Derosa is nothing special either so their is not much to lose though.

I would trade Russell Martin for something as a bench spot for a reserve C is generally a waste imo. Yeah you can try to use the guy on the days Posada gets off in a daily league, but you probably will get more bang for the buck by picking up a good middle reliever or decent SP to sub in with that roster spot than you likely will ever get out of the 2nd C.

Pods is Pierre-lite. Guillen gets hurt too much. Bradley is Guillen with an attitude. Venable as an OF does not rock my boat. He could have a decent year, but he does not hit for a high avg and plays in Petco half the time so how many HRs\rbis\runs can he really get with the Pads?
