Can I get rid of Alexi Ramirez? WHIR

Postby footballisbetter.com » Wed Apr 14, 2010 11:02 pm

Alexi Ramirez is my starting SS. I didn't feel great before the season with him and I hate him now.

This is a points league. single=1 pt. double=2, triple=3, hr=4 points. runs, rbi's=1 point. sb's=2.

We don't use MI, so these are the SS's available: Peralta, Andrus, Aybar, E Cabrera, O Cabrera, I Desmond, Furcal, A Gonzalez and Theriot.

Should I make a move now, if so for who? Or wait for Ramirez and his 8th batting slot in the order? WHIR.

Im not too fond of alexei, but its hard to drop that kinda upside. With that shallow of FA, im guessin u have some guys that are expendible on the bench, and if so drop one for a FA SS. I like furcal from that list, and hes already swiped a bag tonight. He could easily go 30 sbs and in the potent LA lineup his runs could be high. If not, hell tide you over till alexei hopefully turns it around.

Can you bench Alexi and go with Furcal for now. What does the rest of your team look like? Post your team, maybe there is someone else more expendable.

good luck

please help

I have the same problem with Ramirez and have Andrus in reserve. Andrus is not a bad pickup, though it probably messes up your power\speed balance for your team. That said, at this point I would start to consider doing the switch\just cutting Alexei Ramirez for Andrus. Middle level middle infielders like Alexei Ramirez just are not worth sticking with for very long if there is a decent option around. People made that mistake with the Peraltas, Furcals and Renteriea types in the past. No one is going to go crazy to pick the guy up while he is hitting near the temperature. I would leave the others be though.
