Buy Low On David Ortiz??? WHIR!!!

Postby JaysFan » Wed Apr 14, 2010 2:28 pm

I was offered MY Porcello for HIS Ortiz.

Based on my lineup and scoring settings, would you make this deal??? Is Ortiz gonna come around? Is his upside in that lineup just too good?

No. You could probably wait for Ortiz to be dropped.

I think Ortiz is done. You don't really need him so I'd stay away.

Thanks for the help on mine.

+1... I surly wouldn't be giving Porcello for Papi right now, odds are by the end of the week the guy will be cutting bait anyways, thats when you pounce. The previous poster I think is a bit over the top calling Papi 'done' as he did this last year. Remember he hit 95% of his HR after June last year. I would sit tight and wait for Papi to be dumped.

Help me out...

I'm going to pile on the down with Papi train. He's done, plus his DH status leaves you no flexibility which hurts his value almost as much as his recent (and probably permanent) lack of production.

I agree with the waiting on Ortiz. I don't think he's done, but he did the same exact thing last year. So just play the waiting game with him till the owner drops him...then you can pick him up for nothing. and if he doesn't drop him, no big loss.

please help:

Even if he rebounds like last year, I wouldn't do it. Porcello has lots of upside on a good young team.

Sorry for the late response, but hold Porcello! Ortiz is garbage now, Konerko is a better option.

I don't think Ortiz is done nor do I see Porcello having immediate high upside in terms of this year (his K's have to come along, even if he seems to be a high GB pitcher). Seems like a reasonable deal.
