That ALCS in 04 was classic. Epic production by David. Clutch, made him Big Poppi.
And just to be clear, I am not talking about Ortiz's fantasy career, which may or may not be over, I am talking about his real life career. His real life career is dead. He is not the same player and has not been for 2 years. .238 avg. .098 with runners in scoring position. Almost a K a game. He is finished my friends.
We need to send David out on top! He deserved it for ending the reign of terror that was the NYY evil empire.
They won the WS last year, the empire strikes back!
The ALCS 2004 was classic. 2007 was great, too. I will never forget how crazy the '07 parade was:
EDIT: Aussie got me, doh!

As a Yankees diehard, I can say I never managed to truly hate Ortiz the way I hated most of the Sox (I think I still have an active fatwa on Bill Mueller). Not really sure why.
I can tell you this, though. In the middle of the aughts, there was no batter who I feared more when he stepped into that batters box. Whenever he was up, you knew something horrible was about to happen. Even when Mo was on the mound.
His career will be missed.
She said always remember never to trust me She said that the first night that she met me She said "there's gonna be a time when I'm gonna have to go with whoever's gonna get me the highest."

Wait, that means that 2010 will be Return of the Jedi, where Ortiz finishes the Yankees off for good with the help of an army of annoying midgets (played by Dustin Pedroia)
Rocinante2: you know Rocinante2: its easy to dismiss the orioles as a bad team ofanrex: go on Rocinante2: i'm done Rocinante2: lmao
Ortiz's bat speed his down and he's off to a terrible start, but this is nothing new. Same thing happened last year and he still endup producing decent, albeit inconsistent numbers.
He still has value for the Red Sox, he's just done in Fantasy terms. There's just no chance of him playing 1B in an NL park during interleague, and he'll be platooning at DH from now on. Grats to the guy in my league who drafted him during the closer lightning round/#12. K-Rod, Valverde, Wilson, Marmol, Fuentes all went in that same round. In fact, the owner in question is punting saves and doesn't own a single closer.

I think you mean 2007.
Back when Nixon was in office...
Nixon is permanently in office, haven't you seen futurama or read Papelbonblewit's posts?
