Brian Matusz looks amazing tonight versus tampa, If he is still available in your league I would grab him, dirty curveball, fastball, and changeup. He strikes out many, stays ahead of hitters, and gets alot of easy infield flys.

I know he was a highly regarded prospect. Can anyone elaborate on that though? What kind of ceiling does he have?

So far his No-hit bid was ruined by a measly bunt.... LAME

Spoke too soon.... Oh well, still no runs and phenomenal work so far.

He has been a highly touted prospect for a while and what I have noticed these past two starts is his control is amazing. He doesn't have overpower stuff, but he has a stellar change and he paints the outside of the plate beautifully. Amazing stuff so far to start the season.

Although its only been 2 games so take that into account also...

BAH! Was doing so good, until the 8th where you could tell his pitches weren't where he wanted them to be and he got knocked around a bit.... :-C

yea i could tell he was tired at the start of the 8th, threw some really high pitches. Great outing none the less, hope waiting to take him out doesn't cost him the win.

baseball leftovers isn't the place for a thread like this, but at this point i'm going to join in.

Saw he had a 2 hitter through 7 IP...just checked again and saw 4 straight singles after getting the first guy out...Johnson comes in and gets Zobrist out, but then gives up a 2 run single (both runs charged to Matusz)...and there goes the W. Overall, still a solid line, but stunning finish considering he was so spot on.

Guess the manager left him in a bit too long...oh well.

lol yea hahaha.. management blows in baltimore as well as the bullpen aparently.

This guy is still available in alot of leagues that's why i posted it here, also the desription of this category is "Sleepers, updates, strategy, advice ... if it doesn't fit one of the more specialized categories, it goes right here!"

It kinda fits advice if not leftovers imo, sorry if the post was out of place.
