Difference being Casey had a real solid full season last year as a rookie with a .301/.360/.499 line. He clearly isn't as good as we've seen so far in '10, but he's certainly more legit than Bonafacio. To me, plate discipline has been the difference so far...he's a fastball hitter, and he's gotten better at being selective and getting that pitch.

Let me be more specific. How many fantasy rosters will he be starting on by the ASB? My guess is about as many as Bonifacio.

I don't own McGehee, but I'm not seeing the Bonifacio thing at all. Bonifacio had what....a good couple days? This guy has put together months of decent production and has a relatively safe job in a good offense. I don't see any way he isn't widely owned at the all star break, at least in 12 team leagues.
The multiple position eligibility is the only thing he has in common with Bonifacio

In 12 team leagues with MI almost all leagues will still have him owned at the ASB even if he is on the bench in some of them. In shallower leagues he isn't much of an option.
I tried to deal him earlier with no one interested. He has been my everyday 2B in one league and 3B in another. I don't think he's a true .300 hitter, but his power looks real. I've watched him at the plate a few times, and he puts quality swings on the ball. Even though he doesn't have a track record of this, lots of people have altered their approach and improved. I think he's a 20-30 HR hitter with no speed and a .280 average good for 75R and 100RBI. Definitely very useful with his eligibility. I think if he had speed and was just hitting over his head in the HR department he'd be an easier sell, but you're probably only gonna shop him to someone desperate for a 2B/3B, which may be quite a few people this year. I do like him better hitting 5th than Howie Kendrick hitting 7th.
Question: anyone here been able to deal him for anything of substantial value recently?
I swapped him for Gordon Beckham straight up in a non-keeper a couple of weeks ago. Hasn't paid off at all yet, but pre-season I had Beckham well above McGehee...

ouch, thats not gonna work out too good for you. I am on board with Mcgeehee 100% now. I traded Sandoval for J Upton in my 5 man keeper league, and am intent on him being one of my keepers at this point. Dude is legit.
