That's fair, I'm with you, I think that's a reasonable projection. My only disagreement was with the argument that his "upside" wouldn't do much for fantasy. As a career .296 hitter with 18 HR in 405 ABs, I think it's fair to suggest he has the potential to be a .300 hitter with 20+ HR given the full time job as he has now. Toss in 80+ RBIs hitting 5th behind Braun and Fielder, and his upside as a fantasy MI is pretty solid. My projection for him is closer to yours though. I'm maintaining a healthy skepticism for now...though I do start him at 2B in my NL-only league.

I think being a AAAA player is sort of harsh, even for his downside. I think at worst he's a backup infielder/ pinch hitter when Gamel takes his job.

I see this idea tossed around a lot, but again, there are a lot of scouts who are pretty certain Gamel won't stick at 3rd, and all the defensive metrics support that. I think he's at least as likely to be a long term replacement for Fielder or Hart as he is to being the answer at 3B.

1/2 w/ a 2R HR and a sac fly so far today. Worth a flier and eligible at 2 thin positions.

I picked him up last week when I saw how bad Ian Desmond's glove is. Two days later, Aaron Hill goes to the DL. Needless to say I'm happy I got him. Patience, pop and he hits behind Braun and Fielder. What's not to like from a waiver wire MI/CI grab? ;-D

Decent line today ....

1-3, 0.333 BA, HR, 3 RBI, R, 2 BB, 0.500 OBP

He could turn into a sell high option before long.

Given his Minor League track record, as a Brewers fan, I've been hoping and hoping that he'd continue to keep this up. I have however been extremely skeptical, but the guy seems to be as consistent as they come. Everytime I think he's going to experience a drop off, he comes right back and has a solid game. There really has been no drop off since the moment he stepped on the field for the crew. He seems to be the real deal.

I had him, but dropped him in a wrong move. Should I drop Blake for him?

I've got Panda at 3B, J. Lopez/K. Johnson for 2B. 3B/Util would be his primary role. Unless a starter has the day off, or is struggling.

Who cares what his minor league numbers were like? At some moment in time you have to just say a duck is a duck and this guy really is a legit player. Obviously he's extra hot right now, but maybe his 2009 stats stretched over a full season is a reasonable projection.

Minor league numbers often show what a player is capable of in a larger sample size. They rightfully should be consulted for someone who has limited major league experience.
