Reyes/Garza for Cain/Pence?

Postby guyincognito » Mon Apr 12, 2010 3:01 pm

I've just been offered the following deal:

I give: J.Reyes, M.Garza and J.Frasor
I get: M.Cain, H.Pence

I could use the pitching help, don't know how much I need Pence. Seems like a decent deal, just not sure if I should pull the trigger?

Not sure I like this deal for you. I like Garza a lot this year and don;t think Cain is that huge of an uphrade. Reyes when healthy is much better than Pence. I say stay put, enjoy a great year from Garza and watch reyes climb back up to a solid SS. Good luck.

I don't think the deal helps you all that much. If you cut the fat out of the deal, what you're really looking at is Reyes for Cain.

You're not getting a SS with upside in return, so you'd have to put an inconsistent Tejada in your everyday lineup.

Pence is a decent 4/5 OF, but not proving to be much better than some of the guys who can be picked up off of the wire.

I concur with the post above; Garza (who was very unlucky last year) has more upside than Cain. Stay where you are.

I might prefer cain a bit to garza.....maybe. But whatever the gap in value is, the rest of the deal swings too far in the other guy's direction.

Pass.
