I have Mike Gonzalez sucking it up on one team, Trevor Hoffman sucking it up on another that already has Street on the DL. :~(

Paying for saves isn't that bad, my team with Broxton, Valverde, and Nunez gives me peace of mind, although Broxton getting save #1 would be nice.

i have hoffman and gonzo on the same squad. this was my first auction and i'm starting to question all of the "expert advice" of not paying for saves. i'm sure it's just a rough spot right now but will definitely be monitoring this strategy as the year goes.

Aqua didn't pay for saves and look where that got him.

Well he's got 3 of them, he must have paid something. It's not like he got them in the 28/29/30th rounds of a 15 teamer. ;-7 :-b

$10 auction dollars netted me a bullpen of Francisco, Gonzalez, Perez, and Frasor.

all together: 10ip, 15 ER. And it could have been worse if Frasor had continued the trend. yikes. :-P

Not paying for saves is great when it works but usually, I love not having to worry about my horrid closers when I get them right. Closers who blow up every time are the most frustrating thing in fantasy baseball besides early round studs busting.

paying for saves is Broxton/Paps/Mariano

not paying is getting (assumed) value picks with Francisco, Gonzalez, or *shudder* Hoffman.

So the lesson here is pay for saves :-B

Maybe the lesson is Punt saves altogether.

Doesn't seem like any strategy is great when it comes to Closers.
