A source in the Nationals organization says Strasburg is expected to be promoted to Triple-A Syracuse if Sunday's start for Double-A Harrisburg goes well, the Nationals' official site reports.
Recommendation: The Nats actually haven't confirmed this timetable, but it seems like a reasonable move considering Strasburg's dominance at the Double-A level: one run and 23 strikeouts in 17.1 innings. He's expected to throw five innings or around 85 pitches on Sunday. (Rotowire.com)

Mon, May 3
Strasburg suffered his first professional loss on Sunday, giving up four runs (three earned) on six hits and three walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.
Recommendation: The game featured a perfect storm of adversity for Strasburg (a rain delay before the game even started, poor defense behind him, some seeing-eye singles and an umpire who seemed determined to show the superstar up by squeezing the strike zone on him) and privately the Nationals must have been happy to get a chance to see how Strasburg would react when things weren't going his way. The club hasn't yet announced whether they've changed their minds on promoting him to Triple-A right away.
Strasburg will remain on the roster for Double-A Harrisburg at least until his scheduled bullpen session on Tuesday, the Nationals web site reports.
Recommendation: This would seem to point towards Strasburg making one more start at Double-A after he suffered his first professional loss on Sunday, but the Nationals could also be waiting to see some weather reports from Syracuse before pulling the trigger on a promotion.
The Nationals promoted Strasburg to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday, CSN Washington reports. Spin: Strasburg is expected to make about five starts for Syracuse, the first which will be on Friday against Gwinnett. Strasburg, who went 3-1 with a 1.64 ERA and 27:6 K:BB ratio with Double-A Harrisburg, remains on track to be called up to the majors in early June.
This is one of the few times I can say that I'm glad that I'm living in Syracuse.

Former #1 pick Stephen Strasburg excelled yet again in his debut in AAA. Dominating the young Braves, Strasburg displayed a variety of pitches and yet again reminded us why all the hype surrounds him. Strasburg threw 65 pitches, 45 of which were strikes, while setting down the first 10 batters and fanning 6 over 6 innings.
Fantasy Spin: If Strasburg is a free agent in your league you may want to reevaluate your competition. He is a must own in all leagues and will be an instant impact by mid June, baring an implosion equal to or greater then a nuclear bomb. Strasburg’s stay in Central New York is sure to be short lived; not even the bright lights of New York could harness this kid.

Strasburg has allowed just one hit over six scoreless innings in his Triple-A debut.
Advice: Strasburg threw 65 pitches, 45 for strikes, for the Washington Nationals' affiliate in Syracuse against the Gwinnett Braves on Friday night. He struck out six and walked one in facing 20 batters. He also drove in two runs - one with a first-pitch single and the other on a sacrifice - for the Chiefs, who led 3-0 when he departed.
