I think that $97 for Heyward in a true dynasty is realistic. Especially if there is a team that is rebuilding and understands that they have little chance to win the league this year. He cuts himself out of being able to win this year most likely, but on the other hand he takes a huge step forward for the future by adding a guy that could become an allstar by 23 or 24 years old, and maintain that allstar level for a decade or more.

yeah I consider this as a lesson learned in the FAAB era. Now I know just how agressive this league is. Oh well hopefully someone drops a good player or I can get a to be closer off waivers.

Nothing wrong with that IMO... how many people are going to come up and be on waivers anyway? You just guarenteed yourself the best one.

In my 16-team league Johnny Damon was inexplicably dropped and got claimed for $88.

Wow!!! Damon for $88!!! I SERIOUSLY considered putting my entire $100 on Heyward too. Good thing this league isn't for money or I'd be pissed.

Hey guys, quick question. In my league this is our first year with FAAB. We use Yahoo. Does it work like Ebay? Say I put in a $20 bid on a player but the next highest bid is $10. Do I get the player for $11, or do I have to pay the full $20 bid?

You are referring to Vickery Bidding. That is where the winner is one dollar over the second place bid. The FAAB does not work that way. If you bid $20 and no one else bids, he is yours for $20.
