What are the board's thoughts on this guy? He's still very young, but is off to a very good start and should be a in a position to get a lot of runs and stolen bases batting leadoff in a pretty solid lineup. I really don't know much about this guy, just curious to hear the thoughts of others far more informed than I.

I just picked up A.Jackson in the league I'm in, dumping Matt Laporta. Laporta is likely headed to a platoon situation when Branyan is back and I have little patience for those situations. Jackson is at least playing everyday and he'll get me some stolen bases that Laporta won't. I am a little worried about the possible high strikeout rate though. Still, he's my 4th or 5th OF, so it's worth a shot for a while.

The Yankees touted him pretty highly as a prospect. He has a lot of tools. Had decent success in the minors, but he never hit for a ton of power. I did not expect a great year this year, but he does have the tools to be a good major league player.

He's going to have to get a better handle on the strike zone to succeed in the bigs.
His '09 ratio of 40/123 BB/K isn't going to cut it.

He could "get it", or he could be another Fred Lewis. :-?

His plate discipline was excellent this spring, and has carried over to an extent so far. Being young, it's easy to see he has some pitch recognition issues though. I agree with your assessment for the most part, but definitely don't think he will be another Fred Lewis.
