Hey, guys- first year in fantasy baseball. I could definitely use some advice here. Thanks in advance!

I don't know if you guys sometime do this, but I might sit De La Rosa tomorrow instead of letting him pitch for my team. My team's lineup for tomorrow is at the bottom- all advice is welcome (currently thinking of trading an OF for a decent SS,3B, or C backup for those off days). My main reasoning is that he's one of the worst ranked SP's and I have some very solid SP's coming up. Here's the week's scoring:

R H RBI SB F% OPS W SV HLD ERA WHIP K/9 TOTAL
ME 20 37 14 4 .977 .799 2 3 3 4.91 1.09 6.55 8
HIM 18 32 18 2 .989 .739 1 6 0 5.19 1.47 8.83 4

^Tried spacing that but it looks bad, basically main point is I'm winning Wins 2-1, ERA 4.91-5.19, WHIP 1.09-1.47, K/9 6.55-8.83

Short version: I have 4 starts left, including CC (vs TB), Haren (vs PIT), Jackson (vs PIT). He has 2 starts left, Verlander (vs. Cle) and Hudson (vs. SF).
I have 33/40 required innings logged already (as does he).

Pros to sitting De La Rosa: May help keep my WHIP down, prevent ERA from going up, very likely I get at least 1 win from remaining three pitchers and that they will bring down ERA and up K/9 (at least Ari vs. Pit matchups)

Cons: Lose out on a win if his SP's get wins and a RP nabs a win and my SP's don't perform well, De La Rosa pitching against SD (not sure about MLB team offensive ranks)- likely to bring down ERA and/or boost K/9 if SD is really that bad at offense.

My OPPONENT's pitching lineup (only SP's with start left):

SP Justin Verlander (Det) (Projected to start Sunday, vs. Indians - SP Westbrook)
SP Tim Hudson (Atl) (Projected to start Friday, vs. Giants - SP Sanchez)

RP Francisco Rodriguez (NYM)
RP Brian Wilson (SF)
RP Trevor Hoffman (Mil)
RP David Aardsma (Sea)
RP Ryan Madson (Phi)
P Luke Gregerson (RP)

MY starts left:

SP De La Rosa (Col) (Projected to start Friday, vs. Padres - SP Richard)
SP CC Sabathia (NYY) (Projected to start Saturday, vs. Rays - SP Davis)
SP Dan Haren (Ari) (Projected to start Saturday, vs. Pirates - SP McCutchen)
SP Edwin Jackson (Ari) (Projected to start Sunday, vs. Pirates - SP Duke)

Another thought: I'm also somewhat scared to start CC against the Rays with the way he let things slide against Boston and my seemingly safe starts against Pit.
What do you think? I'm somewhat leaning towards benching him for this particular week. Do I have a point to this kind of strategy or am I screaming Fantasy-newbie?

Doing a little more research, I found De La Rosa has been posting a good amount of K's this spring. This could get me the lead in the K/9 category so probably wise to just let him pitch.

I agree with your logic. He maybe your worst but he is nowhere near the bottom

Thanks... yeah what I meant by 'one of the worst ranked' I really meant out of the SP's taken in my league he's somewhat towards the bottom range of the 10 teams. I'm letting him go since it's against SD and it's the home opener.
