Trying to trade for a SP , mAybe Grienke

Postby GDormz » Thu Apr 08, 2010 9:38 am

10 team head to head (holds count)

a manager in my league has put Grienke on the trading block as his staff also has lincecum and king felix and he is looking for a LF.. I was thinking ab offering Carlos Lee for Grienke...not sure it would be able to get done but if so, is it a good idea and would it hurt my offense too much?

My team:

C- Doumit
1B-Pujols
2B-Phillips
3B- Youk
SS-HanRam
LF-Lee
CF- Hunter
RF- Cruz
UTIL- Butler
Bn- Carlos Gonzalez
Bn- Bruce
Bn- DeRosa
DL- Beltran

SP Lester
SP Billingsly
SP Brett Anderson
SP Piniero
RP Wagner
RP M. Gonzalez
RP Rauch
P Bard
P Chamberlain
Bn Matusz
Bn Happ

Could my offense take the hit and do I need to make this trade to Bolster my rotation?

Thanks! WHIR!!

Don't think Lee will nab you Greinke straight up, but it's worth a shot.

Might not even be worth a shot. If he's sensitive, you could offend him, thus making a future deal that much more difficult.....

None of your batters will work one-for-one for a pitcher of grienke's ilk. Pujols and hanram are ofcourse too much, the rest, not enough...

Try a 2 for 1 or 2 for 2.....toss him a pitcher, maybe ask for a lesser outfielder....

That offer would almost certainly offend him. You can low-ball, but don't offer anything insulting. If you really want Greinke, I would probably offer CarGo and Brett Anderson or Carlos Lee and Piniero or Matusz. That still might not be enough... if I were him, I'd want at least Carlos Lee and Brett Anderson, but you might as well low-ball him at first.

I feel like CarGo and BAndy would be a good spot to agree at, especially with Anderson's solid start today
