Drop Soriano for Evereth Cabrera? WHIR

Postby Hes So Taguchi » Wed Apr 07, 2010 1:00 pm

Do I drop Alfonso Soriano for Everth Cabrera?

I don't really need SB, but I loathe Soriano and Im not so sure that he's going to be worth anything this year.

I feel like the "correct" move is to be patient and see if Soriano does anything, but I know that Cabrera will not be on the WW for long. This is a 14 team league, and with SS as shallow as it is I'm surprised he's still there already. If I do pick up Evereth Cabrera, I will deal Asdrubal Cabrera and maybe shore up 3B or get another OF.

EDIT: I'm going to try to package Asdrubal and Soriano at first to see if I cant get something done that way. I just offered these 2 to someone for Nelson Cruz. We'll see!

C - Miguel Montero
1B - Ryan Howard
2B - Robinson Cano
3B - Martin Prado
SS - Asdrubal Cabrera
OF - Jacoby Ellsbury
OF - Shin Soo Choo
OF - Josh Hamilton
UTIL - Nick Johnson
BN - Alfonso Soriano

SP - Adam Wainwright
SP - Scott Baker
SP - Francisco Liriano
SP - Kevin Slowey
SP - Brett Anderson
SP - Hiroki Kuroda
SP - Ben Sheets
SP - Fausto Carmona
SP - Shaun Marcum
RP - Andrew Bailey
RP - Mike Gonzalzes
RP - Ryan Madson

I think you gotta wait it out.. try to wait for a big day and trade him. or start sending out feelers now and see if you can get someone to bite.

I agree. If Soriano stays healthy, he'll outperform ECab. If you're seriously considering this, I'd try to trade Soriano (perhaps in a two for one) then pick u Cabrera.

I'd give Soriano a couple weeks. If he explodes, deal him. If not, I'm sure Cabrera wouldn't be that hard to trade for, if he's even picked up at all.
