Lots of unproven/risk guys on the pitching staff, maybe you want to deal for a proven pitcher? I dont love Prado, Id dump him once Beckham gets 2B eligibility. Wright better hit some more home runs this year, or he could be a sketchy third basemen (but Im thinking he'll hit more than 10) Solid offense, maybe add a proven pitcher and youll be set.
I'm a Braves fan, but I think Prado will perform well now that he's a starter. I'd try and trade an OF for a good starter and pick up with gomez/rasmus. You can take a hit in hitting to help your pitching, which is definitely lacking, and OF is your deepest position.
To be honest with you, I really like your team. You have a good staff and Your line up looks strong and steady to me. The only spot I might look to improve would be 2b, and thats a a pretty even position onece you get past the few studs there. I personaly would hang tight for a bit and see how things shake out. It's a long season.
I think you did extremely well on the offense...you won't hurt there. I like Prado, as he can be useful in 3 categories and plays 3 positions, so he will be useful on your bench when Beckham gets 2B eligibility. The only thing I would do is get Rasmus for Ordonez. That's just me though, I think Rasmus will be a great pickup hitting behind Pujols and Holliday. Ordonez could deliver as well though, he was an All-Star just 2 years ago.
As good as your offense is, I think you may have to make some trades to upgrade your staff. I don't trust Lackey and Beckett, but somone else might. Maybe target a guy like Nolasco or Jimenez...that level of pitcher which you can likely get by packaging with one of those OF Lackey or Beckett, getting back a slight downgrade in OF and an upgrade in SP. I think you can afford the slight hit in offense to upgrade elsewhere. Balance is always key. Worse comes to worse...I would try and pry Hamels for Lackey. You never know, and I think Hamels is going to be big this year.
I agree with the others. You have a solid team with a great offense and a high upside pitching staff; however, I see guys like Padilla, Marquis, Wilson, and Arroyo and tell myself that there is a lot of risk assumed with these guys.
I would definitely shop one of your top outfielders for a top of the rotation stud. Other than that I really like your team.
