No way, dude. They can't afford to wait that long.
Meaning what - they'll need some extra revenue that he'll bring? Somehow I don't think a few extra fans on days SS pitches making or breaking the team's fortunes.
And it's extremely unlikely they'll need him to help make a playoff run.
I see no reason for the Nats to bring up SS before June. The finances of keeping his FA status farther off make too much sense, and there's no compelling reason to bring him up earlier...
so... 5 more hitless innings last night. and remarkably managed to retire 16 batters in those five innings. At this point it's safe to say that the nationals are only holding him back due to dollar situations.. CALL HIM UP! FILL THE SEATS!
Also worth noting that they really aren't stretching him out at all in the minors, which is sort of odd. Obviously they're not going to bring him up just to kill his arm, but it's also reasonable to think that he'll probably be throwing more innings and pitches once he hits the majors than he has been in MiLB, which could see his returns somewhat diminished as he'll likely get fatigued earlier than you'd hope.

He only through 109 innings last year, so I don't think they're going to push him past 150 innings this year. I wouldn't expect him to go past 5 or 6 innings in most starts.

Exactly.
And the less innings he throws in the minors, the more he can throw in the Majors. They might be able to get an extra start or two out of him if he throws 5 innings every time in the Minors as opposed to 7.
