wieters is hitting so low because he had a terrible spring, they dont want to put too much pressure on the young kid. however, i think they were hoping wieters would hit his way into the cleanup spot in the spring and they were hoping reimold would be 100% to hit in the 5th spot. neither of those two situations occured, so you have tejada/luke scott in the 4/5 spots. with that being said, i think as some point this season, whether its 2 days, 2 weeks, or 2 or more months, we will see and orioles lineup of roberts, jones, markakis, wieters, reimold, tejada, scott, atkins, izturis...not bad.
surprised bj upton is that high in the batting order as well. i think its only a matter of time before we see s-rod in the 6th spot behind pena and upton in the 9th spot for the turnover of the lineup. makes more sense for upton since he's shown his power potential still hasn't, or will never, develop. 9th spot would be a nice speed postion for him to just get on base, steal and get driven in by the top of the order.
