Proposed Trade for Halladay - WHIR

Postby Kimbos Beard » Tue Apr 06, 2010 11:24 am

I proposed this trade

BJ Upton-Halladay for Wright-Victorino-Hoffman-Marcum

I am giving up the Wright Side. Standard 5x5 12 team league.

Check my team below. I have decent pitching but I thought this would give me the best pitching in our league. If Everything works out, Victorino would be the odd man out when Beltran got back anyway (and I am down on Victorino a little batting 7th). I have 4 closers, so Hoffman is expendable, and I can slot Pablo into the 3B.

C-Doumit
1b- Fielder
2b- Phillips
ss - Alexei
3b- Wright
OF - Markakis
OF - CarGo
OF - Victorino
UTIL - Pablo
Bench - Milton Bradley-Chris Davis-Beltran

SP- Wainwright, Cain, Billingsley, Chris Young, Rich Harden, Shaun Marcum
RP - Aardsma, Hoffman, Rauch, Capps

Thoughts.....and you know I WHIR.

If you can get this done... do it for sure cuz your robbing him blind! esp if thats JUpton along with Halladay. Victorino is hitting 7th or 8th, Hoffman is what... 50 yrs old and Marcum nothing close to a Halladay replacement albiet the Jays think so. I personally would laugh and reject this deal. But if you can get it done... bravo to you

Which Upton?

If you are proposing the trade and haven't spoken with the manager, I don't think it will happen... especially if its Justin Upton.

Sorry guys, it's BJ.

The other owner only has 1 closer, and was high on Marcum.

The way I analyzed it Halladay=Wright. The other owner has Chipper and we have discussed that he knows Chipper has about 2 more games before turf toe or something puts him on the DL.

Then Bj Upton for Victorino-Hoffman-Marcum is not that outrageous since he needs a closer, is high on Marcum and Victorino is still a legit piece.

with that offer, I see it as a fair deal. Hopefully it works out for you.

BJ Upton is garbage and so overrated. I know I would not do it.

I like the Halladay part of the deal for you but I am also down on BJ. See if he has another young OF that can slide into his spot of this trade. Someone who hasn't had it said for like 5 years this is his year, I rate BJ just above Alex Rios (and Rios is a bum IMO)

He has Heyward, Manny, J-Hamilton and BJ Upton as his eligible OF

The only guy I'd want off that list is Heyward, make Victorino CarGo and I think it may work. Depends on whether this is a keeper or not. I think Heyward is in for a big rookie season and beyond.

As previously said, this is just further confirmation that you should run with it if you can pull this trade off. It's nice how people bite after opening day with one dominant start (i.e. Marcum) eh? This trade will leave you a little short on closers but I think we all know the saves that you'll miss now will easily be accounted for later if you make a quick add once someone goes down.

Help with mine?
