Napoli / Soto / Montero - WHIR

Postby Doughhead » Mon Apr 05, 2010 10:52 pm

I drafted Napoli, but Montero and Soto are now available. I had Montero rated higher going into the draft. Should I make that switch? Does Soto factor in?

Yeah, 8-team, 1-catcher league, so only the top guys are owned. The guy switched Montero for Russell Martin. Not sure why. I had Montero targeted all along at the draft, but I missed the boat and ended up with Napoli. Was a little disappointed but had warmed to him. Now I have the opportunity to get Montero and I'm not sure I want to. :-S

I would put Montero at 1 out of those 3. It's pretty close and I think Soto should provide some decent power at the position, but I'd take Montero.

Montero no doubt...but watch Soto, he put up gawdy numbers as a rookie catcher. He's got a higher ceiling IMO but Montero is definitely a more consistent player.

help?

Perhaps I should also throw Doumit into the discussion here. I've always liked him and he does hit clean-up (even if it is in a lacklustre Pirates lineup). Off to a good start too.

If Doumit could ever stay healthy, he'd be above all of them. Alas, just look at his career history - the man is glass. Miggy Montero for sure, he should be the 5th best C this year so it's puzzling why he was even dropped.
