Eye raising moments

Postby Saltydog » Mon Apr 05, 2010 10:26 pm

Did you have an 8-o moment at any time during your draft or fantasy season?

For me,
Every other start from Greinke was like 8-o in 2009.

During our draft,
Clay Buchholz being drafted in the 4th round.

Rumor has it that while Clay was optioned to the minors, his mustache was snuck on to the 25 man roster... no confirmation at this point though.

strasburg went for $44 in our contract salary league. true now he has him locked up for some odd years...but at $44...that made most of us go 8-o

during one of our live drafts this guy jumped on Stras kindof early, then goes outside for a cigarette. The TV is on in the background and it's MLB networks fantasy show. A couple seconds after he goes outside, there's that one moment of silence, and whoever it was on TV said "Don't draft Stephen Strasburg this season". It was high comedy.

I do a small money league with a bunch of old high school buddies every year. None of them know a lot about fantasy but they're usually not totally clueless either.

Anyway, someone took Roy Halladay 3rd overall (Pujols and Hanley went 1-2). We gave him a lot of crap for it.

I don't know that's a completely terrible move. If you want to build your team around pitching, the argument can easily be made that Halladay is the best choice. An already-dominant pitcher moving to the NL, playing on one of the best teams? If you're in a league that counts Wins as a category, I think he's the best starter out there (I think Lincecum is close, but won't get as many W's). I think #3 is a little early, but I wouldn't have a problem with him as a first round draft pick.
