Huge 3 Way Trade!!!

Postby rasto21585 » Mon Apr 05, 2010 4:41 pm

So this is how these trades will go down. For starters I will trade jesus montero jon lester and gio gonzalez for david wright and david hernandez. Then I would trade wright and danks for braun and zambrano. Do you think this is something I should do?

So your basically giving, Lester/Gio/Danks/Montero for Braun and Big Z? Its better then your first Lester/Gio/Smoak for Wright deal, but I still don't like that all that much. Braun is amazing, but you are totally 100% stripping your whole rotation for one guy. You go from a very solid rotation to and iffy one at best. Lester/Hamels/Danks/Gio/Homer to Hamels/Z/Homer/Wilson/Lewis as your top 5. Thats too much to give IMHO. I love to get some big bats, but for what your giving your not going to have a shot to win this league for years to come, and by then Braun will be worth A LOT less. Think about it, yes your OF would be amazing for years, but it would take you years to even start to rebuild your staff.

I say no. Lester/Gio/Danks/Montero for Braun an amazing bat/Z a decling rapidly below average SP/ Hernandez who isn't even on radars and is at best the 3rd best young arm in Baltimore? No thats just too much value and young value at that.

So how much upside do you see for upton? Do you think he hits for more power this year?

If you can manage with the lower average (because I still think he is a year or 2 away from understanding it all and hitting for a solid consistent ave) then I think he is just a gem. I'm looking for a 20/40 out of him this year, with the potential to be among the elite within the next year or 2 and become apart of the 30/30 club. He has all the tools and hell hes still only 25, hes about a lock for 40SB/85+R bare minimum if he doesn't hit the 20HR and get the 70RBI you will at least have that. But with his potential you can't just turn his value down, but your asking what I think, I personally think 20/40 is well in reach for him THIS year.
