Since Nix is a career 1 - 7 vs Carp, I guess that Dusty figures he must be due.

Seriously, trying to find logic in Dusty's decisions will drive you crazy so it is better to just sit back and expect the unexpected.

What I posted above was straight from Dusty's mouth ... not an assumption. And, Nix's one hit off Carp last year was a HR.

Dickerson looked like he had a great read on Carp in that at-bat. Based on what I read this spring, sounds like Dickerson whined enough until Dusty gave him the start.

Holliday just hit a routine grounder about halfway between the second base bag and where O-Cab was playing SS, and the dude wasn't even close to getting it...it looked like slow motion...and ridiculous.

To contribute...yeah, Baker's lineup cards always befuddle me. I don't think he'll be able to screw up Votto or Bruce, but the concept of having a high OBP guy instead of a toolsy gritty gamer with calm eyes or post-prime veteran batting near the top of the order will forever elude him.

Yeah, Dusty is a fool, I'm surprised, but apparantly Walt Jocketty is as well. The official 25 man roster and off-season have been a mess.

Sign Aaron Miles to $2.5 million contract to cut him at the end of camp, check.

Keep Juan Francisco and his laughable BB:K rate on the club, thus not allowing the 22 year old with solid upside to further develop, check.

Name Mike Leake your 5th starter in spite of the fact he has zero professional games started, thus tossing him into the fire immediately and starting his arbitration clock, check.

DFA Wladmir Balentien to keep Laynce Nix around, check.
