H2H: McCutchen for Liriano

Postby SHUMopper » Mon Apr 05, 2010 10:32 am

NOTE: Refer to the bottom, me and this team and revisting this trade again.....McCutchen for Liriano.

Team in the league is looking for an OF, i need a pitcher.
He offered me Liriano for McCutchen.

Its a 14 team H2H league, my current OF is: Braun, J. Upton, Heyward, McCutchen, Rasmus. We start 3 OF and 1 UTIL. So currently I am using everyone by Rasmus.

My four starting pitchers are currently: Grienke, Hanson, Brett Anderson, Porcello
On my bench i have Carmona, Matsuz, Feliz.

Would you do this deal?

I don't think you're in dire need of a pitcher. Your staff looks good for a 14 team league. If you're looking for some depth, it isn't going to hurt you though and personally I'm pretty high on Liriano. I think you can get a bit more for McCutchen though.

After reviewing it some myself after posting this thread up....i have decided to hold off.
i think my staff is pretty solid for a 14 team league...and McCutchen could be some useful trade bait elsewhere if Heyward pans out for me.
Plus Liriano is one big ? mark. I will need to get more predictable value for someone like McCutchen who you know is going 20 70 30 .290 this season.

there is some really good potential there in Liriano, but i think you might be able to get better for McCutchen.
i do think you could use another quality pitcher. im not as high as others on Anderson. he had a big increase in IP from 2008 to 2009 and that could be a risk in 2010. theres allready been word about an issue with his arm. i wasnt even going to draft Anderson this year because of the risk.
getting Liriano for McCutchen isnt bad, but IMO McCutchen could get someone better.

help?

Didn't we talked about it...? :D
If you like Liriano so much, trade for him- but McCutchen is the better option.

HAHAHAH your right...i was just antsy yesterday to make some sort of deal, which i didnt do. I didnt buy into the Liriano hype.

the other team did counter at me Dan Haren for Justin Upton.

Now while i love Dan Haren, his post all star break numbers suck year after year. 4.5 era for the last 5 years post ASB.
I think im just going to hang tight for now. But what is your thought on the above offer?

I'm a Batter-Fan, so Upton (Top-5 material) is an obvious choice for me.
I wouldn't do that deal neither.
Upton has much more value in a H2H-league.
