The decline of Manny Ramirez

Manny wasn't on my "DO NOT WANT" list, but in each and every draft this year he was taken too high for me. I'm in leagues with a ton of Red Sox/Dodgers fans... if Manny was there after Round 10 (120th overall) I wouldn't mind selecting him, but he went earlier than that in every instance.

I actually reached for Manny a little. Remember he missed 50 games last year on account of the Maple bat controversy... or am I getting my wood related news stories mixed up?

But seriously... 19 HR, +50 games... gets him not too far shy of 30.

I'd be happy with 450 90 27 90 .290 and wouldn't be surprised if its higher.

Manny's power output after the suspension was OK, but the odds are good he'll have an occasional rest day or two each week. Not to mention, he'll probably be replaced late in games for a better defensive OF (Reed Johnson). I think the leg fatigue he complained about late last year could have been attributed to missing 50 games, but then again, he's going on 38, and it's possible he's starting to wind down. Still think he's a good bet for .290 and 25 HR, but obviously not a 4th-5th rounder. Perhaps, he could be worth a 6th rounder, although it depended on what was out there.
