Garza and Zambrano for Papelbon WHIR

Postby cardscrazy589 » Mon Apr 05, 2010 12:18 am

I get Papelbon

He gets Garza and Zambrano

Pitching stats are ERA, WHIP, Ks, K/BB, and QS.

My staff right now is Lester, Lackey, Wandy Rodriguez, Garza, Kuroda, Hudson, Ervin Santana, and Cueto and just Bell and Frank Francisco as my two closers. I'm probably going to go over 1500 IP limit if i stick with this staff so its probably wise of me to get an elite closer for two middle of the road starters. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything.

Thanks and I WHIR.

I understand the logic and agree with it, but to say that Garza is a middle of the road starter I think is a bit of a reach. I see 13W and 200Ks out of him this year, not so middle of the road. If you want to go with strategy I would suggest dropping your standards from Paps to lets say Marmol or Cordero or Soriano or even Rodriguez. But your going to overpay for Paps 9/10, and Garza/Z is way overpay. I would do something like Santana/Z, he probably won't take it, but Garza/Z is too much IMO.

Yeah, I think it's too much to give up too ...

I understand your league's innings pitched requirement, but I still think it's too much to give up for a closer, albeit, a great one.

Don't trade Garza, you won't get enough value for him this year. I'd rather trade Lackey or Wandy for something honestly.
