Picking up another SP to replace Lee for a few weeks?

Postby ajacob24 » Sun Apr 04, 2010 3:02 pm

Hey everyone,
After the announcement today that Cliff Lee is going to spend the first couple weeks on the DL, I decided it was probably a better time to pick up another SP for my team.

My league is a 15 team ROTO league. Scoring includes R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP

My Roster currently looks like this:
C- Mike Napoli
1B - Joey Votto
2B - Aaron Hill
SS - Marco Scutaro
3B - Michael Young
OF - Ryan Braun
OF - Hunter Pence
OF - Torii Hunter
Util - Casey Blake (3B)
BN - David DeJesus (OF)
BN- Orlando Cabrera (SS)
BN - Matt LaPorta (OF/1B)
BN - Mike Cameron (OF)

SP - Cliff Lee
SP - Ubaldo Jimenez
RP - Fernando Rodney
RP - George Sherrill
P - Ryan Dempster
P - Hiroki Kuroda
P - Joel Pineiro
BN - Jeremy Affeldt

My options include Scott Feldman, Andy Pettitte, Paul Maholm or Nick Blackburn. I'm thinking of dropping Affeldt to make room on my roster, but I'm also considering dropping Cabrera or LaPorta (who I recently picked up) .
Does anyone have any thoughts on that move? Maybe I don't need to add another SP?
Any advice is always appreciated. Thanks in advanced!

I would actually pick up Pettitte for a few weeks. He is consistent and you know what you are going to get with him.

please help

I picked up Kendrick who has starts vs Wash the 1st 2 weeks and R Lopez who had a great spring and a home game vs Pitt week 1. Not great names and won't be every week starters but both throwing well and facing weakers offenses

A bunch of very helpful suggestions. I'm very intrigued by the hopes of Kendrick tearing Washington apart in the first two weeks, but I feel taking someone like Padilla (especially with his start with the Pirates tomorrow) might be a better move. Anyone else have weigh ins on Kendrick or Padilla (or maybe any other suggestions?).

Thanks for all the quick responses ;-D
