How'd I do?

Postby artvandelay444 » Sun Apr 04, 2010 9:29 am

I'm in a 12 team 5x5 roto leauge and was just wondering how I did. I've never played in a league this big and the picks didn't go the way I thought and got away from strategy pretty quickly. I drafted 12th:

C-Joe Mauer (1)
C-AJ Pierzynski (15)
1B-Todd Helton (17)
2B-Dustin Pedrioa (3)
3B-Evan Longoria (2)
SS-Stephen Drew (11)
MI-Everth Cabrera (19)
CI-Nick Johnson (23)
OF-Alfonso Soriano (10)
OF-Denard Span (12)
OF-Jason Heyward (14)
OF-Nyjer Morgan (16)
OF-Curtis Granderson (5)
UT-Conor Jackson (21)
SP-Felix Hernandez (4)
SP-Johan Santana (6)
SP-Cliff Lee (7)
SP-Josh Johnson (8)
SP-Fausto Carmona (20)
SP-JA Happ (22)
SP-Randy Wells (24)
SP-Ricky Romero (25)
RP-Heath Bell (9)
RP-Huston Street (13)
RP-Brad Lidge (18)
RP-Brandon Lyon (28)
SS-Ian Desmond(26)
OF-Mike Cameron (27)

Good team overall. I would think that pitching is your greatest strength. Actually, you seem to have enough depth at pitching where you could trade away some to help out at MI or CI. Maybe get someone who can improve over Drew at SS? I guess I'm just not a believer in him. So this isn't a keeper league huh? Too bad since you got Heyward ;)

Here's my team if you got a second to take a look. viewtopic.php?t=406441

Thanks for the reply. I went into the draft thinking I was going batter heavy, but a few players went earlier than I thought and so I ended up going pitcher heavy. I had Helton targeted as my CI, not my starting 1b,so I understand I need to work on MI and CI. I am also a little nervous about my relief pitchers, Street and Lidge on DL....just couldn't pass on them.

I think this a good team. I really like your staff. That is your strength. I am not a huge fan of your outfield. It is decent, but lacks true impact bats (Unless Heyward goes Ryan Braun). As the season progresses monitor the WW for OF breaking out (OFs breakout every year).

Overall I think you should be solid in the batting categories while dominating the pitching.

Please take a look at my team: viewtopic.php?t=406438
