Thoughts from an impartial observer who is very interested in the talent of both of these squads.
The Good:
Buy Carlos Quentin while you can. His violent swing is back(wrist appears to be 100%, it was nowhere near 100% last season), and you can see the confidence just oozing out of him. Expect an MVP-esque season again from LosQ.
Gordon Beckham appears to be the real deal at 2B as well. No reason he doesn't finish as a top 5-7 2B this season, and for the next ten. .280 and 20Hr's is pretty much assured, and I can easily see him developing into a .320/30HR type in his prime. Beautiful, natural swing...can't teach what this guy has...watch out Pedroia, you may have some competion for the best 2B in the AL in a few years.
Jake Westbrook looked shaky, but his stuff is back, give him time to get his control back, and 15 wins isn't out of the question
Mark Buehrle made every Indian batter look stupid today, it happens when the crafty lefty is on. I can see him shutting down the Indians in 2020 as well.
Alex Rios, nice to see that beautiful swing once again, hit .270 with 25 HR's? Yes, I think he does, or at least come very close to those numbers.
JJ Putz? I haven't seen you throw the ball that hard since you posted one of the best seasons a reliever has ever had, maybe the best a reliever has ever had. If this keeps up, the White Sox will win 95+games, the Indians? Not sure yet, but if you are a betting man, place your life savings on Chicagp(AL) covering the 83.5 wins...this team looks legit, 95 win legit, imo. Time will tell, as well as injuries!
