I was also disapointed to see this, was really hoping Escobar would win the #2 spot in the lineup. At this point I think the Brewers would be better off batting him 9th instead of 8th.

The Yahoo blurb said they were gonna start off with Smith against righties. Luckily they play back to back lefties after today though.
