Compared to catchers he can hit. But he needs to hit well enough compared OF'ers and DH's to play enough to have any fantasy relevance. That is what will determine his fantasy value.

Good point, but it looks like suzuki is going on the dl, so that should give him time to establish his bat and if all goes well, he should wiggle in more at bats.
He's DHing today against a LHP instead of Chavez, and he has a 2 RBI double so far.
There's not really much point in playing Chavez anymore. He basically gives you the stat line of a decent hitting pitcher. So far Chavez is hitting a robust .219, with 0 HR, and 6 RBI in 64 at bats. Micah Owings would absolutely be crushing this guy in a head to head competition.
Hopefully with Suzuki hurting Fox can establish himself and warrant starting most days "somewhere."
Jake Fox sure does have that 2009 Ben Zobrist feel about him huh!? AWESOME utility guy who just needs a place to play everyday. Put up solid numbers lastyr but in limited ABs (Remember Zobrist had 12 HRs in 08 but a half seasons ABs and Fox had 11 lastyr in about 1/3 seasons ABs). I dont know if Fox can replicate what Zobrist did in 09 but this thread sure does have that 2009 Zobrist feel to it!!!

I don't know about all that. Zobrist was a guy that could play everywhere, whereas Fox is a guy that can play nowhere.
I do feel like he's one of Oakland's better bats (not saying much). He belongs as the DH for that team, so hopefully they figure that out sooner or later.
He was getting no playing time. Every time he got an at bat he seemed to be swinging for the fences. I've been holding onto him in my deep league just because of his eligibility under supposed upside but have been very close to dumping him. Guess i'll wait and see if he gets a full time spot on some other team before dropping him.
Jake Fox was designated for assignment. He was hitting just .214 in 39 games with two home runs and 12 RBI
^Well that worked well.
