Very balanced team, what do you think (WHIR)

Postby BigRy » Sat Apr 03, 2010 6:24 pm

This is a 14 team standard roto league.

C/1b Vmart
1b/3bSandoval
2b Brian Roberts
SS Yunel Escobar
3b/2b Ian Stewart
OF Braun, Car-go, and Denard Span
Util Franklin Guitierrez and Juan Rivera
Bench Alicedes Escobar, Garret Atkins

SP Josh Johnson, Ubaldo Jimenez, Gavin Floyd, David Price, Mark Buerlhe
RP Brian Wilson, Carlos Marmol, and Franklin Morales

On paper my team appears to have a great balance of power, average, runs, and stolen bases.

My pitchers are not top notch but good enough to keep me competitive. If Price can exceed expectations then my staff is really good.

Leave link for WHIR

Thanks,

Ry

I really like your roster flexability. Of your two Escobars, I think Alcides will eventually be your SS over Yunel. I'm not a fan of Atkins. If you have other waiver options available at 1B, I'd drop Atkins for them. A first basemen would complement your roster better as you have 2 guys who can swing into the 3B spot already. I'm thinking someone along the lines of Butler or Cuddyer optimally. If not, I still think a Nick Johnson, Todd Helton, Adam LaRoche, Paul Konerko or Conor Jackson would be more useful to you in the long run. For a deep 1B flier, take a look at Gaby Sanchez.

I'm not a big fan of Beuhrle either, but in a 14-team league, he may be your best option. I'd have to know what else was available on your wire.

Overall, a good mix of power, speed, and batting average. Solid rotation with some upside in the front 4.
