Return to Draft, Trade, Keeper and Waivers Questions

Hey everyone. Unconventional question here, but important!
I am in an auction draft keeper league - unlimited keepers, +$1, +$3, +5, +7 and so on - and yahoo failed to put Jason Heyward in the player pool for the draft. That means that he will be eligible to be picked up from waivers at a value of next year for $1, and his owner will be able to keep him for one additional dollar per year. The catch is that we have an auction bid for waiver players as well. We are given $100 per year and the entire league bids on the waiver player. The highest bid pays that amount and wins the player. It's important to note that the only players who need to be auctioned are players who are dropped (two days) and players who make an MLB debut. Regular free agents are available to pick up for free at any point.
Knowing that 1) I'm a Braves fan and 2) I believe in the hype of Heyward (at least that he'll meet his long-term potential) how much of my waiver budget would you bid to get him? Keep in mind that it doesn't at all affect next year's draft budget.
Thanks for your help and please post your link. Baseball season is here and I live for this!

I think I'd bid in the $15-17 range, but I'd tailor that to what I knew about my league mates, and how likely they are to bid, and how agrresive they usually are
