Keep which two: McCutchen, Pap, Lackey, Carlos Lee?

Postby jmudukes2008 » Fri Apr 02, 2010 11:00 pm

So i've figured out 5 of my 7 keepers but am torn between these four players and the last two spots. McCutchen, Papelbon, Lackey, and Carlos Lee.

I'm already keeping Lincecum, Haren, Adrian Gonzalez, Aramis Ramirez, and Grady Sizemore.

Thanks, my draft is tomorrow morning so please give me advice asap!
Leave a link and I'll do my best to help with your questions. It's been a while cafe, but i'm back!!!

Depends on the type of league I guess, but I like McCutchen and Papelbon here. You've already got 2 starters, so it'd be nice to have a lock on closer too. Carlos Lee is very much still effective, but he's getting older. Same with Lackey. His injuries the past 2 seasons concern me.

McCutchen and Papelbon are the answers here. a good, still young closer, and McCutchen will be a solid OF option for years to come.

I think its McCutch and Pap all the way. You are already keeping 2 SP and I don't think Lackey is good enough to warrant keeping 3SP. McCutch has the youth and upside over the consistent but aging Lee.

By taking Pap, I think you really set yourself up nice for the draft, you already have 2 SP and a RP, which gives you flexibility. That way you don't find yourself having to reach in the draft for a RP because you suddenly realize you don't have any and only Matt Capps is left.

I debated on Lee because I had to do so myself earlier this year, but Cutch and Paps make the greater sense.
