Not sure who to drop to pick up these possibly good pitchers

Postby DoctaDre » Fri Apr 02, 2010 6:42 am

Ok so here's the part I need some advice on

I got liriano, sheets, ryan rowland smith and joe saunders as my lower quality pitchers ( halladay, hanson and nolasco are my top 3 pitchers).

Now on the waiver wire there is still some possibly better pitchers but not quiet sure, so I want to know what yall think.

Zach Duke, Carl Pavano, Paul Maholm, Jamie Moyer, Ricky Romero, Volstad, Jason Marquis, Kevin Millwood, Tim Wakefield(not a fan due to bosox status) and Vicente Padilla.

So, should I drop any of the pitchers I currently have for any of these on the waivers? is there one you see on the waivers that is better then the pitchers i got right now?

Right now I'm brainstorming to definitely keep liriano and sheets to see how they play out, then possibly drop. So basically its between saunders and rowland smith.

Any advice would be appreciated.

PS, I do have on my batters bench, placido polanco, chase headly, marco scutaro, and ian desmond. Maybe drop one of them instead to pick up an extra pitcher?

Itemized advice by number ('cause I'm really feeling numbers over bullets right now)...

1. We need your roster details, league type, and scoring to answer this properly. ;-D
2. Do not, under any circumstances, drop Liriano. :-t
3. None of those guys on your list really turn my crank anyway, so start dropping from the bottom.
4. When you're making a roue, let the butter and flour mixture cook for 3 or 4 minutes to reduce the floury taste.

Who you want to drop depends on roto vs HtH really. That said, even in HtH you can probably loose one bench hitter. The culinary tip is a little extra bonus - that's how I roll. :-D

I'd probably drop one of Polanco or Scutaro. Of the list of available guys I'd probably add Romero, but what I might be tempted to do is give those guys some games to see how they're panning out once they're pitching games that matter before dropping or adding anyone.
