Travis Snider or Nick Johnson? WHIR

Postby Doughhead » Thu Apr 01, 2010 11:43 pm

With Reyes to the DL, I have an open spot on my roster. I'm able to replace Reyes at SS internally, so this is just a guy to fill out the roster. With that in mind, I'd like some upside. I've narrowed my choices to Johnson and Snider.

It's an OPS league, making Johnson fairly attractive--especially in that park and at the top of that lineup.

Snider is a wild card, but I have a good feeling that he could really break through this year. Seems like he might be just the upside option I'm looking for as the last man on the roster.

I'd go with Snider for the upside and potential. He's younger, has good power, and should win a starting spot.

I adjusted my post... added a few pitchers to the choices. Please check it out again: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=406121

I'd go Nick Johnson- Snider still sounds like a year or two away and Johnson plays in that hitter friendly park and doesn't have to face CC, Burnett & Mariano

Love Snider's upside going forward. Johnson is an injury waiting to happen. I'd hate to miss out on Snider's breakout if it happens this year. Not even close. Good luck!

Help with mine?

Only 3 HR and a .143 ISO from a first baseman in 118 AAA PA so far? Nice AVG but he's looking an awful lot like James Loney right now.

I'd go with Snider. You're not counting on him for a full time roster spot, and this could be a breakout year. The upside justifies the pick at this point.

Help if you can:

Johnson will be hurt in a month. Snider has breakout potential, possibly of Adam Lind caliber. take chance on him.

The safer pick is Nick Johnson. If Nick actually stays healthy, he's my pick. But Snider is intriguing, but I don't think it's his breakout year.
