Excel document help for the draft

Postby gotbupkisNJ » Thu Apr 01, 2010 10:30 pm

I am using my laptop for the first time to an auction draft and I want to keep up with every team as the draft progresses. I am not great at Excel, and it took me some time) but came up with formulas for players remaining to be drafted and salary remaining for each team. I am struggling though with coming up with a formula that will calculate the maximum bid a team can make. Anyone use a formula like this before?

It's easy. It's whatever money they have left minus their open positions.

What you can do is have 1 column for the players they've bought and the prices and then the column next to it that is an IF function that is IF column X equals "" then 1, else Column X. Check Excel Help for the exact syntax.
0-3 to 4-3. Worst choke in the history of baseball. Enough said.

I have a pretty good spreadsheet that I have used for a few years if you're interested.

Just email me and I'll send it to you.

That isn't correct. If you have four players left and four dollars, 4-4 would equal zero which would not be the max bid. It should be Money Left minus Players Left plus one. If you have you have 4 dollars minus 4 players plus one would give you $1 as your max bid.
