Using EXCEL during auction draft (please help)

Postby gotbupkisNJ » Thu Apr 01, 2010 10:29 pm

I am bringing my laptop for the first time to an auction draft and I want to keep up with every team as the draft progresses. I am not great at Excel, and it took me some time) but came up with formulas for players remaining to be drafted and salary remaining for each team. I am struggling though with coming up with a formula that will calculate the maximum bid a team can make. Anyone use a formula like this before?

Money Remaining less players needed plus one = max bid on one player. Example $15 - 10 players + 1 = $6 max bid would leave you with 9 players and $9.

I've got an Excel spreadsheet that I've used in the past that is all set up. If you want to send me a PM with your email address I can email it to you. If nothing else it should give you something to work from.
Relax, all right? Don't try to strike everybody out. Strikeouts are boring! Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

If you're going to have an excel file, worry less about $ left and more about inflation/deflation during the draft
