need some closer help...

i always like to overstock my team with closers. unfortunately, i drafted closers late this year, and all of mine are past their prime or coming off / currently are injured (F. Rodriguez, B. Wagner, M. Gonzalez, B. Lidge). and with Lidge now on the DL, i'm looking to pick up another.

i'm undecided on whether I should:
1.) handcuff Lidge's spot and pick up Madson, or
2.) hope that Lidge will maintain the closing position for the majority of the year, and pick up Dotel.

10 team H2H (standard 5x5)
C: M. Wieters
1B: M. Teixeira
2B: D. Pedroia
3B: D. Wright
SS: A. Ramirez
OF: J. Werth, J. Bay, N. McLouth, A. Rios, J. Damon (start 4 of 5)
SP: J. Lester, J. Beckett, R. Nolasco, T. Hanson, R. Oswalt, M. Scherzer, T. Lilly
RP: F. Rodriguez, B. Wagner, M. Gonzalez, B. Lidge (DL)

Furthermore, when / if Lidge comes back (provided I pick up Dotel over Madson), who would be the best player to drop in order to keep 5 healthy closers? I know having 5 closers is extreme, but the strategy has always worked in the past, so i'm sticking with it. I feel an additional pitcher is worth far more than a benched batter, so I feel like Damon may be the player to go. This would give me no benched batters, but that's a consequence I'm willing to accept.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

C: Montero
1B: Votto, LaRoche
2B: Prado
3B: Wright
SS: Desmond, Furcal (DL)
OF: C. Gonzalez, Werth, Rios, Pagan
SP: Lester, F. Hernandez, Carpenter, Oswalt, Lincecum, Hanson, Beckett, Nolasco
RP: Wagner, Rodney, Takahashi

Way too many closers dude. 4 is enough. K-Rod and Wagner will be solid. If you need another one grab Madson for now

No DL slots in your league eh? Pity...

I'd probably add Dotel over Madson, but adding Dotel and Madson at the expense of Lidge could be the the '20-20 hindsight' move. That's a risky play indeed though, so maybe just stick with Dotel. I don't like the idea of dropping Damon for either guy, but you need to stick to your plan if it's something that's worked for you and it's what you built your team to do.

Pick up Dotel. I have Lidge as well but God only knows when and what he is going to do when he comes back. Dotel is a K machine and will have something to prove in Pitt. Damon would be the first to go as well but keep Lidge on a tight leash.

for some reason, i never thought of picking up both of them. i guess i always assumed Lidge would make his comeback and be fine. after all, it's not hard to improve on last year's numbers. that's an interesting thought...
