Have to give him props. After floating around the FA list for most of the season I took him out of desperation in late August and it's paid off - He's had a really nice month.
he showed last year what he could do on the bases, this year he is going to hit that 20hr mark. Early spring training has him hitting leadoff and 3rd, not that it means much on the Pads, but if he hits 3rd I expect a .270-20-80-80-25sb line, with Bartlett, and Hudson in front of him, he should have good RBI opportunities.
If he hits leadoff I expect again .270-20-65-90r-30sb, with a prototypical no 2 hitter in Hudson, and Venables ability to draw a walk, I think we might see a Drew Stubbs esq line. Stubbs is going relatively early, Venable could easily replicate his numbers with a 15th+ round price instead of a 6th (not sure where Stubbs ADP is actually)
whats that mean? you dont want others to be aware of him, or you dont buy into him?
as a Padre fan whats your take on him
He likes him and wants as little attention to be drawn as possible.
thats what I thought, as the only Pad fan in my league, I am targetting Venable as my 5th OF (start 5). As you can see I have been on his bandwagon for quite a while.
