Trades for Lilly WHIR, always WHIR

10 team roto, 6x6 (trips, OBP x QS)

I feel I need to improve my starting pitching because of the QS category. Normally I'd be fine with these two aces, a few unexceptional mid-tier starters, and great relievers so as to stay competitive in K, ERA, and WHIP. But with QS I feel I need another good starter to stay competitive with W and QS.

Am I giving up too much? Prado's position elegibility is sweet (my only 2b/3b backup right now) but I'm kind of loaded in the OF so I don't need Maybin that much. On the waivers I have Headley, Wood, and Kelly Johnson who stand out.

Would appreciate your thoughts! Leave a link to your post, I always respond in kind!

My team:
C- Soto
1- Votto
2- Uggla
3- Sandoval
SS- Hanley
CI- Loney
MI- Alexei Ramirez
OF- Kemp, J-Up, Granderson, Fowler
Util - Coghlan
Bn - Aybar, Prado, Maybin

SP - Beckett, Nolasco, Baker, Slowey, Floyd, Cueto, Sheets,
RP - Valverde, Qualls, Thornton, Joba.

Re: Prado+Maybin for Lilly? WHIR!

What about maybe Maybin/Sheets instead? I have zero faith in Sheets and even if he hits half of what he used to be able to do its not going to be that stellar. Lilly is a strong arm that would really help your rotation. I have to say I would even do Prado/Maybin for Lilly tho if it came down to it. I would start off with Maybin/Sheets then go to Maybin/Prado tho. Also keep in mind Lilly will miss at least his first 2-3 starts and thats only if all stays on track during his rehab.

help me out...

Also offered Lilly for Loney, straight up. Not such a fan of this one, as I'm pretty high on Loney and he occupies my CI spot, wheras those other guys are bench players for me.

Your thoughts? WHIR, always WHIR!

I wouldn't give Loney for Lilly straight up because I think that this could finally be Loney's year to produce in a big way. He is also somebody that I am very high on this season.

I would say a Sheets/Prado for his Lilly shouldn't be too much to ask for, especially considering some people really value multi-position players, and Prado can play any base as you know.

Given your current situation, Maybin/ Prado for Lilly wouldn't be a bad deal for you. Lilly is 34, but appears to be getting better, and I bet he has another good year in '10.

I like Maybin/Prado for Lilly ... you won't miss Maybin given that outfield, and Sheets at least has that upside for you if he can stay healthy.
