Yes, you are getting robbed. Usually a third of closers lose their jobs every season, whether due to injury or performance. Don't sweat it, just be ready to pounce in a closer when the season starts.

Keep Nolasco, he's way to much to give up in that deal.

I would have to agree with the other two guys. I always feel that closers are not worth that much because you can always pick them up during the season.

For instance, the season has not even started yet and Street is down for a bit. So is Wood. Lidge could get his job back once he is healthy, but with his performance last year, let's hope that doesn't happen. Gonzalez (IMO) will give up his position in Baltimore after a while. If Lindstrom tanks in Houston, there is Lyon. Who knows what is happening in Toronto and Minny.

The season has not even started yet and I have already pointed out a bunch of shaky positions. Plus, we don't even know if Bailey will be in there for the season.

Johnson is good but might be on borrowed time (till he gets injured) and thus you can look at it as Bailey and Nolasco. Nolasco showed the type of pitcher he was late in the season. Bailey will give you 60 innings. Finally, Lyon is not a closer right now, so basically you have Nunez. Adding Bailey won't really change your position too much in that category (you will be near the bottom regardless). Nolasco can have a lot more of a (positive) impact on your team long-run.

I wouldn't do this deal either. See if Jason Frasor is out on the wire, was just named Jays closer to start the season. As for Minny it is going to be CBC between Gurrier, Rausch, Jose Mijares, Jesse Crain (but expect one or two of them out of favour if they falter) I've also heard rumors of either Frasor or Downs being shipped to Minny from Toronto and they would assume the closing job.
