Players gaining new eligibility in Week 1 or 2

Vlad will likely gain OF eligibility. Not sure about him getting it by the end of week 2, but it could happen:

4. DH Vladimir Guerrero -- He took a .311 batting average into Sunday's game with 14 hits in 45 at-bats. He has five doubles but no home runs. His batting practices have been monstrous at times and he seems to be moving well on the bases. Biggest issue is how much time he gets in the outfield. Washington wants him out there on occasion although there appears no compelling reason except to keep Guerrero focused.

same with Matsui:

Mar 26 Matsui is scheduled to play six innings in the outfield in Friday's spring training game against San Francisco, the LA Times reports.

Recommendation: Matsui played four innings in the field on Monday and did not report any soreness afterward. Hopefully Matsui is able to start a few games in the field early in the season in order to firm up his OF eligibility.

From what I gather S.Rodriguez would get his PT in the OF so I'm not so sure about him gaining 2B elig. so soon.

He has 3 of the 5 GS he needs to be 2B eligible in Y! leagues. Should get the other two this week.

I agree. May be useful for AL-only-ers or huge leagues. Bartlett had the day off, and S-Rod lead off. Hopefully, the Rays give him some leash à la the Red Sox w/ Pedroia in '07.
