use waiver on pitcher?

Postby jealousblues » Wed Mar 31, 2010 12:09 am

I had to second pick in the draft so Ive got the 9th waiver
do I use it on one of these pitchers?

Frasor (can never have enough closers right? I mean you can at least trade them)
Cueto
Kazmir (had him last year yuck!)
ervin santana
paul maholm
lilly?

who to drop?

any other suggestions?
I might be able to trade from my Offense and pick up someone off waivers like Ross?

If Webb starts on the DL you may be able to pick another SP up on spec without dropping anyone. I'd probably add Lilly off that list (even though he's going to start late as well), although Cueto and Santana could be ok as well. You really don't need a 5th closer at all, so if you're thinking about Frasor I'd try to unload Jenks to someone who's hurting for SVs.

If you have a DL spot pick up Santana. If not then stay put for now. I don't see anyone to drop on your team.

After DLing Webb I would give Kazmir another shot in your rotation. I think he bounces back this year, or take a shot on Jeff Francis - coming back and looking good in ST and Coors is no longer the launching pad it once was.

Chapman + Price for Jurrjens + Burnett. Easy decision especially in a redraft league. ;-D

Beltran might be out until June apparently, so that should give you another DL slot to work with whch I'd probably use to add Abreu.

JJ and AJ for Price and Chapman is a good idea too. ;-D

yeah, I put in waiver claims on those two (though I dont expect to get one)

I also really want Abreu but Carlos isnt on the DL yet.

The guy who dropped all these players is actually usually a really good fbb guy. I havent examined his team yet so maybe they make sense but it seems odd
