Better DL stashee?--> Bedard or K. Wood?

Postby Maris09 » Tue Mar 30, 2010 2:53 pm

I'm not really pressed for either a starter or a closer, but just trying to figure out which one of these guys has a better chance at being useful this season?

Thanks

I'd go with Bedard. I think his upside is greater and I wouldn't stash a closer since you can always get saves off the WW.

Any other options? Haha jk...

I would go with Bedard out of the 2 also. Potential for more upside and more usefullness from a fantasy persective then Kerry. Also Wood may not be guarenteed the closer role when he returns if Perez does anything good with the opportunity he has been given. Both are fragile risks, but I would stash a SP that could potentially help more then a closer...

Bedard -- Perez is not going to be yanked if he is doing a great job, but moreover, Bedard is on the mend whereas it seems Wood could just have this issue reoccur like most of them do. Bedard could reasonably return and have a valuable stretch for you.

help me?

The only thing I think could happen to come back and bite me is if Wood gets traded to a contender and closes for them in the 2nd half.

I'd go with Bedard here. He can have a greater impact on your roster, plus it would really suck if Perez is lights out and Wood somehow doesn't get the closer role back. Weirder things have happened

Yeah but do they then just dump the rest of his 2010 salary on somebody who needs a closer at the break? Like a contending team?

That's my concern.

I like Bedard, but how about someone like Dice-K? I see him as a bit more valuable person to stash.
