Verlander/Fuentes FOR Ryan Howard (keeper league trade)

Postby dukefan » Tue Mar 30, 2010 2:39 am

I Receive: Ryan Howard and (maybe)Ricky Nolasco

I Give: Justin Verlander and Brian Fuentes

I don't have really good hitting and I feel that my pitching staff is already really nice. This guys has 3 1B on his team (howard, cabrera, morneau) and he was SP and a CL. Only problem is I have Morales at 1B...should I take this trade and try and trade Morales later on or just stay put with my current roster??

My roster:

C: Matt Weiters

1B: Kendry Morales

2B: Ian Kinsler

3B: Gordan Beckham

SS: Jose Reyes

OF: Andre Etheir

OF: Carlos Quentin

OF: Chris Coghlan

UTIL: Robinson Cano

Bench: Howie Kendrick

Bench: Brad Hawpe

SP: CC Sabathia

SP: Zach Greinke

SP: Justin Verlander

SP: Matt Garza

SP: JA Happ

SP: Edwin Jackson

RP: Andrew Bailey

RP: Brian Funtes

RP: Frank Francisco

Do your best to get Ricky Nolasco. If you can do that your pitching staff is still well above average plus you make a big improvement on Morales. I wouldn't worry about giving up Fuentes because saves will turn up if you keep your eye out.

I would do this trade especially if Nolasco is involved. This trade would give you many options. You could put Howard in the Utl or 1B slot and trade Cano, or Morales for a top tier Closer. If you lose Fuentes, I would definitely replace him with another closer. you will be hurting for saves if you don't

I would do it. Fuentes isn't a lock. I would trade Cano. You don't want him at UT.

I would to this as well... I think Verlander actually fits your team better than Ryan Howard, but the value is just too good to pass up. Turn around and ship out Kendry or Cano for an SP once you do this trade, or Kinsler for a really elite SP.

I would try to get a 3rd OF Cano. I prefer Kinsler over Cano myself.
